Wind turbines are wind turbines used for microgeneration. Rather than using large commercial wind turbines, such as those found in wind farms, wind turbines can be deployed easily by any homeowner. Wind Turbine Bird Strike? I have had home windmills at the ranch and these days I have 3 home windmills on my roof. They are the RoofMill product from WindEnergy7. I have never seen a bird death from a windmill. Our home windmill systems are now installed from Hawaii to Massachusetts, Europe and Canada. I have yet to have a single report from a customer, dealer, or installer about a bird death from my systems. I am sure I will at some point. But it’s a pretty solid fact that I rely on when people ask me about birds and wind generators. I am very comfortable in assuring them that it’s fine.
See this video below, check it out. Those trees are packed with nests and I have baby birds everywhere. I have feeders and bird houses front and back of my house. You can hear in every one of my videos that I have birds everywhere. They don’t mess with the windmills, they fly right around them but steer clear. Birds are very cautious and agile animals.
One wind energy expert was quoted.. “It’s easy to compare wind farms and wind turbines unfavorable to nothing.” But if you actually take all the major threats to birds, wind turbines pale in any comparison.
Studies show that the big utility scale turbines kill one to two birds per year, per turbine, on average. Scientists like the ones of the Audobon Society have concluded that the issue of studying birds and home wind turbines is so insignificant that it is not worth studying.
I have three home wind turbines at my home and have yet to see a bird that is stupid enough not to stear clear of it. Birds are agile and aware as part of their instincts. Ever put out a harmless new bird feeder? A bird lover will know that birds are cautious, careful. I know, I have bird houses and feeders front and back of my home and love to watch the birds every day. They provide great amusement for my 2 cats. 🙂
Most important to bird lovers is these two facts which offset any concern they have.
(1) The Wind Energy is replacing Coal Mining, Uranium Mining, Oil Exploration, Burning of Fossil Fuels and much greater habitat destruction.
(2) All other forms of energy are worse for the birds than a wind energy for the air, water, trees, and resources that are important to the birds.

Hello,
Sure, prices will come down. But these home wind/solar systems pay for themselves in 5 to 10 years, depending on wind/solar resources and your systems design. That’s a system that keeps making power for more than 30 years of life. That makes it a very, very sound investment and a good deal too. One of my goals it to lower costs through volume, but quality and value is first. These systems are the best price/performance ever made and easily pay for themselves, right now.
Anyone doesn’t think so should spend more time doing math and comparing it to any other investment. Â Of course it’s…
– Only good for people who use electricity.
– Only good for people who pay for electricity every month.
– Only good for people who own a home, acreage, or business.
That includes many, many prospective customers. Name me one, just one thing, that you could potentially sell those people that could give them 20 years of free electricity AND pay for itself. It’s at worst a 10 year return on investment (ROI), runs another 20 years, that’s 300% on the money invested. That’s if electricity costs never even go up, then it’s even better. AEP Ohio just announced 15% increase for each of next three years. Utility insiders and employees are reporting a coming run-up like we just had with oil.
How Sure An Investment Is This Home Wind Turbine?
It’s a s sure as the wind will blow, the utility company will send you a bill, and you will need electricity for your house.
So, eep an eye on my blog. I am beginning a series of articles to start educating my dealer and customer network. The articles start with first in series is, my favorite subject. Â I start with The economics of price/cost and return on investment (ROI).
I think that most people really don’t see clearly how good this is as a personal and family economic investment. I see very clearly as I sit here all day doing these analysis of system ROI. It’s amazing. I wish I was rich. If I were, I would plow every single dime into wind generation < AT CURRENT COSTS >. No doubt.
The first article in the educational series should post tonight, maybe tomorrow at my blog. I’m going to systemtically lay out how to do wind system ROI FIRST. Then how to judge correct systems size/performance for a situation. Then start educating all about the systems, components, issues, technology. Some of that will be on the secured part of my site, for the dealers only. But allot of it will be for anyone, customers and whoever is interested.

Qualified small wind energy property costs are costs for property that uses a wind turbine to generate electricity for use in connection with your home located in the United States. Our Wind/Solar Hybrid Kits are qualified as solar electric property costs. Qualified solar electric property costs are costs for property that uses solar energy to generate electricity for use in your home located in the United States. Congress passed legislation, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, H.R. 1424, that includes a new federal-level investment tax credit to help consumers purchase small wind turbines for home, farm, or business use. President Bush is expected to sign the bill into law. Owners of small wind turbines with 100 kilowatts (kW) of capacity and less can receive a credit for 30% of the total installed cost of the system.
