I grew up in far west Texas, same area as the most productive wind farms in Texas. You see, I am not new to home windmills and wind power. My family has used wind power for many generations to water our cattle. My family has been watering cattle awhile in Texas, were ranching in Texas before the range was fenced. Wind Power is great and always has been a reliable source of proven energy. I have been around home windmills my whole life. I have applied my experience and skill to create the most advanced Home Wind Energy technology available today.

These home windmills pictured have run for many, many years. Although they are quite different from my Home Windmill systems that I sell today, you would be surprised how much I have carried into my new technology. TowerMill™ Small Wind Turbine

TowerMill™ Small Wind Turbine – This video is from Kansas where a wind turbine installer and dealer for WindEnergy7 has recently installed a small wind turbine system. This is the most advanced hybrid home energy system in the US, the Home Wind Farm™. The system has a maximum power output of over 10kW. This Home Wind Turbine system features redundant charging capability, wind and solar hybrid generation, emergency power with whole house battery backup, and more. The video below shows one of our most recent installations of our Home Wind Farm™ systems. The Home Wind Farm™ system is an exclusive innovation of WindEnergy7 LLC, an Ohio based manufacturer of home wind turbines and solar electric products.

Featured in the video above, the TowerMill™ is a larger tower mounted or pole mounted system that is a wind/solar hybrid energy system that puts out 4.0kW per unit. Our Wind/Solar Hybrid systems are qualified for government tax crdedits of 30%. So, for your investment made in these systems the government tax incentives are 30% within one year that you get back from the IRS. Despite the bad economy, our wind turbine kits are selling at a brisk pace. That’s because of the great investment that a home wind turbine represents. Many early adopters are already seeing their investment grow in value. A WindEnergy7 turbine owner reports…

“We put in our home wind turbines in the fall and started making power. Then, Congress passed the bailout bill this fall, it added a 30% tax credit for small-wind projects. So, our investment qualifies for a tax credit there. Additionally our electricity company announced electricity rate hikes of 15% for each of next three years. That’s about 50% alltogether. Electricity costs are rising sharply and insiders report that utilities are planning to make a run at us similar to what oil companies pulled in 2007-2008. The industry experts are predicting home wind power to grow 40% next year, even in a down market. DIY Home Wind Turbine Kits

I enjoy doing this work, helping homeowners build and install wind/solar hybrid systems.  WindEnergy7.com has kits starting at just under a thousand bucks and going up to whatever size project a customer needs.  Although we have larger community sized wind turbines for school districts or local government projects, it’s the small home wind systems that are most fun.  The best selling is the smaller rooftop mounted turbines that connect with a solar panel to give clean reliable power.  

You see, since the wind is stronger in the winter months, sun is stronger in the summer months, we designed a system that is attractively priced, that gives an even flow of energy year round.  The synergy of a wind/solar hybrid system gives you more consistant energy for your home throughout the year.

I think it’s great to check out the home grown turbine kits and plans, but for most people, a professionally designed high tech kit is the way to go.  It’s way simple to assemble and put up and is simply more attractive at the home.  If you want a project of experimentation and something that looks home made on your house, I encourage you to build a home made junkyard turbine.  But that’s definitely not the best way to go for most homeowners.  My starter kits put out far more reliably and will perform much better than a clumsy homegrown junkyard turbine, just a thought.

Wind/Solar Battleground, 8 STATES WITH NO NET METERING

There are actually 8 STATES WITH NO NET METERING AT ALL. To me, these should be the focus of effort… Sort of Net Metering Battleground States. See net metering map below.net metering map of us

Curiously some of these states have great wind resources along that central US belt. But even the states without much wind resources are important to home and business solar generation systems.

If your state is red, you really should be engaged in this issue. This means you have NO right or support to have your own windmill or solar and do so WITH utility power connection as well. But look how many other citizens can do this, sorry, not in your state. It’s wrong, needs fixed.

Also worth noting, look at the states that have horizontal green lines. In these states the utility buys back excess at full retail price, 1 to 1 ratio. In many states like Ohio, they bay back at about 1/2 of what the homeowner or business retail cost, so it’s 2 to 1, causing return on investment in wind or solar to take longer, thus restricts and discourages small wind/solar generation being developed and adopted. That’s what we all want and should have, equality of support for alternative energy.

We all need to support and demand that our RIGHTS be expanded to be equal to other states. If you notice by the map, about 90% of us have less opportunity for home and business wind energy than other US citizens. WHY? Because politicians have not caught onto this as a point of how they can support alternative energy.

Please contact your State’s Utility Commission, State Representatives, Congressman, Senator, and send them this link with the map here. Ask them to support the standardization of these laws and policies to equalize everyone’s ability to have economically viable investment in home and business wind/solar systems.
