Using Wind Maps and Resources
The most accurate maps are generally the Truewind maps, if available. Many of these maps you can zoom in (sometimes a lot) to see more detail for your location. On some of the "other map" sites, interactive zoom tools and/or special mapping software packages may be available.
Wind varies with height above the ground. Once you’ve found your average wind speed range from the map, you need to think of wind obstacles and height of your turbine.
