Greetings,
I am currently re-building my home's system to upgrade with all the cool stuff that we have developed at WindEnergy7. I managed to sell off all of my old system and am re-building now, just starting and doing this as a show & tell to use in training and supporting all the new customer's and dealers of WindEnergy7 (WE7).
I will be editing this post and updating it. I definitely don't have time tonight to even post all my recent pictures or make this really detailed, so it's a work in progress. So, if you read it, check back because I will continue sharpening this up and developing this as the complete battery cabinet How To. I also encourage any comments, questions, or recommended additions.
The Materials List:
- Tenneco 36"x18"x72" metal storage cabinet. From Grainger most commonly LINK.
- WE7 Green paint, will post the numbers later
- 1/2" plywood for shel re-inforcement
- 4" Dryer Style Vent Kit and Parts
(will be adding pictures of all parts bought and sources in complete detail)

Tennsco shelf capacity
I noticed that the shelf capacity for this 24 gauge unit you linked to is 150 lbs. However, the Interstate U2200 weight (wet) is 63 lbs. I don't know what this shelf would actually take before it began to bow, I found that Tennsco also makes a 16 gauge unit with 200 lb. shelf capacity. Of course, 4 batteries would still exceed this limit also, but I think it would come closer to handling the weight long-term.

Hello, Yes, of course, if you take a spec cabinet and put the batteries in it that's a problem and could result in a real serious accident.
THAT'S WHY WE...
(1) REINFORCE the shelves with the plywood inserts.
(2) drill holes, put nusts and #12 small machine screws through back & sides of cabinet into shelves.
(3) drill holes through plywood and shelf and put flathead machine screws to laminate the metal shelf to the wood insert.
(4) screw a cross brace under each shelf with a 2x2 wood piece to provide rigidity under the metal shelf.
MUST DO THIS. ALL OF IT.
I am not proposing anything I have not done many times and succeeded with myself. That's the good thing about getting a system from WindEnergy7 LLC, the support. I do all this stuff on my own house and have done so many systems that I can pass on all the tips and techniques that will make your system as goos as the one I have on my own house.
Nothing we are doing is experimental. These are proven techniques, methods and means that we train others to use in their installations.
This why I ALWAYS RECOMMEND you do the standard installation. As soon as you venture out and do anything different, you are now experimenting and I can't and won't support cusrtomer experiments. It takes too much time and I have to stay focus on customers doing the standard recommended systems in the way that I show and support.
