{"id":14,"date":"2008-07-09T17:21:52","date_gmt":"2008-07-09T21:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/windenergy7.com\/turbines\/?p=14"},"modified":"2017-01-27T22:35:34","modified_gmt":"2017-01-28T03:35:34","slug":"ballinger-texas-school-district-wind-energy-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/windenergy7.com\/turbines\/wind-energy\/ballinger-texas-school-district-wind-energy-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Ballinger Texas School District Wind Power Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>.<br \/>\n.<br \/>\nBallinger Independent School District&#8217;s is progressing with the 2007 CREBs proposed community wind project for the construction of Mitsubishi 250 turbines to power the schools electrical needs.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas school district in Ballinger prepared and submitted applications for federal Clean Renewable Energy Bonds (CREBs) in 2007. \u00a0Ballinger was awarded the equivalent of about 1 million dollars (or 750 KW) in bond sales. \u00a0CREBs legislation requires the first bond payment be made by the end of 2008, thus construction continues this summer.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"float: right; border: 1px solid black; margin: 12px;\" src=\"http:\/\/windenergy7.com\/IMAGES-green-wind-energy\/ballinger-texas-school-wind-turbines.jpg\" alt=\"ballinger texas school wind energy project\" width=\"320\" height=\"253\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ballinger&#8217;s superintendent Scott Goen met with the wires company which services the Ballinger district, AEP, on February the 19th 2007 to discuss power sale options.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The plans are to construct three community wind sized turbines at the end of the high school campus\u2019s soccer fields. \u00a0These 250-KW Mitsubishi turbines are remanufactured, which means that since previous operation they underwent significant overhauls, such as generator rewinding, gearbox rebuilding, hub re-surfacing, new controls and rebuilt hydraulics.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ballinger ISD is enhancing the district financial stability by establishing the district\u2019s ability to generate its own power. \u00a0Ballinger ISD plans to offset district energy costs with behind the meter interconnection.<\/p>\n<p>To Buy a Wind Turbine or Become a Dealer, Please fill out our <b><u><a title=\"Home Wind Turbine Contact\" href=\"http:\/\/windenergy7.com\/contact.php\" target=\"_blank\">Contact Form<\/a><\/u><\/b>.
