IMPORTANT:
It's important to not forget that all our diagrams and configs are shown with 6v Batteries. DO NOT use 12v batteries and configure them by our 6v diagrams. That will cause problems (overvoltage) and can even be dangerous. Using 12v is possible but NOT with our standard installation diagrams. WE RECOMMEND 6v DONE EXACTLY TO OUR RECOMMENDED DIAGRAM.
OK, now that that is stated. The 6v goes in sets of 4, 4x6-24v
The 6v golf cart battery will last longer and perform better. Recommended are Interstate U2200 and comparable 6v Deep Cycle Golf Cart Batteries.
You could use 4, but since you have no solar, Dallas is a soft wind area, the battery bank is more important to sustain between windy periods. I would get 8 if you can, actually if you get more than one turbine I would recommend 12, 3 sets of 4. If it's a cost thing, really tight, go with 4 and upgrade later will be good enough to use. In summer will charge from Grid more between wind resources if needed.
